MDMCC Club Rules
These rules are not to contradict or breach any of the GCR’s. These rules are to help members and officials to communicate and help the ride days to proceed smoothly.
General rules:
CODE OF CONDUCT: All competitors, officials and parents are reminded of the motorcycling Australia By-Law-CODE OF CONDUCT (as stipulated in the GCR’s) which is a guide to appropriate behavior at all motorcycle meetings. This Code of Conduct applies to all meetings held by the MDMCC and shall be enforced. All members, family and friends are asked to arrive and leave in an orderly manner.
DRESS CODE: No open toe footwear/smoking/drinking in the pit/paddock area.
INJURED RIDERS: The medical officers that are in attendance of the day will have the final say as to whether an injured rider can continue to compete on the day.
ALCOHOL: There is to be NO ALCOHOL consumed by riders, parents or guardians on ride days. No alcohol in the paddock and pit area. If you are caught drinking alcohol you will be asked to leave.
UNDER 16 YEARS OLD IN THE PIT AREA: As per our track licence states that any person under the age of 16 years old is not permitted in the pit area (Peg draw chutes 1 & 2) unless you are a competitor.
ANIMALS: Animals are prohibited from the complex. Animals that assist with a person with a disability will be accepted.
Riders MUST be a current member of the MDMCC and hold a current MA License.
MACHINES: All machines entered in a meeting held by MDMCC must comply with the GCR’s for track competition.
NO RIDING OF UNREGISTERED MOTORCYCLES AT THE COMPLEX OTHER THAN ON THE TRACK: This includes the paddock and pit area and the car parks (the only area licensed to ride is the track). The appointed Officials will exclude riders.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE MDMCC IS MANAGED BY A GROUP OF DEDICATED UNPAID VOLUNTEERS. At no time will physical/verbal abuse be tolerated toward them or any other member of the club. Anyone displaying anti social behavior will be asked to leave.
MDMCC has the right to refuse membership or entries from a rider. ALL members are expected to do the right thing at all times, if not, exclusion of rider for the day or for more serious cases - loss of membership.
RACE DAY SCHEDULE
Working Bee (preceding Saturday) 9.00 am – 3.00 pm.
Race day sign-on available for working bee participants – same sign-on requirements apply - see sign-on requirements below.
RACE DAY - Gates Open 6.00 am
SIGN-ON:
Sign-on will be from 6.45 am to 8.15 am.
All riders under the age of 16 must be signed on by a parent or guardian who must be present all day.
All junior riders’ Parents/Guardians must present their rider’s Log Book at sign on.
All senior riders requesting a “One Event Licence” must have either held a MA licence in the last 2 years or produce a signed off “Supplement to Starting out in Motorcycle Sport” theory test and riding test/road licence.
Any rider returning from injury and who appears on the latest suspended riders list must produce a medical clearance to race motorcycles before signing-on. The medical certificate needs to state “Cleared for Motorcycle Racing”.
All riders entered on the day must supply a volunteer (senior can volunteer themselves) for marshal duties, lap scoring, canteen or other duties.
All riders or parents/guardians signing on must see the Flag Marshall Coordinator at sign-on to be allocated a volunteer duty (flag marshalling, lap scoring, canteen etc) before signing on.
All riders must present their riders MDMCC Membership Card and MA Licence at sign on.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARENTS/GUARDIANS/SENIORS TO ASSIST IN THE RUNNING OF MEETINGS:
Every rider MUST have a parent/guardian or another person able to help with the duties of running a meeting (seniors with no extra person will still be required to perform flag marshalling themselves). The parent/guardian/senior will be required to nominate the duty of their preference on the roster sheet at sign-on. If a parent/guardian/senior is unable to assist the rider will not be riding. Failure to perform duty during the day will see the rider being removed from the race/s until the duty is performed. If you do not volunteer for a duty, you will be allocated one. Parent/guardians/seniors will be required to nominate for any of the followings duties:
Flag Marshal, Lap Scoring, Pit gate, or Canteen
The Flag Marshall Coordinator who can be found at the sign on area and will manage allocation and recording of duties
Remember – the race day can not be run without a minimum number of helpers - therefore no helping means no riding – possibly for anyone if there isn’t the minimum number available (for example; race day stops if there aren’t enough helpers).
ENTERING JUNIOR/SENIOR MULTIPLE CLASSES
Any rider can enter a primary class they are eligible to ride in (pending availability of positions – MDMCC will determine if an additional grid will be opened for the same class).
Any riders can nominate a secondary class that they are eligible for – additional ride fees apply. If there are vacancies in that class (after all nominated primary riders have been allocated a position in that class) the position will be offered to the rider.
Although MDMCC attempt to arrange the race order so riders can ride in their primary & secondary class and still do their volunteer duties, rider’s volunteer duties will take precedence over secondary rides. In the event of back to back races, the second race will not be held up for riders to prepare for the next race.
SCRUTINEERING
All competitor machines must be presented for scrutineering after rider has signed on (at sign-on a dot will be issued – no scrutineering unless sign on dot is on your front number board).
All riders must present their bike/s, helmet and body armour (juniors only) for scrutineering prior to riding the bike on the track.
LATE COMPETITORS
A competitor who presents themselves to sign-on after 8.15 am or when sign on is closed – participation in the day’s competition will be at discretion of the clerk of course and the availability of officials to sign-on and scrutineer their bike.
RIDERS BRIEF
Will commence immediately after sign on.
All riders are to attend riders brief.
PRACTICE
Will commence immediately after riders briefing and will consist of 1 lap under yellow flag.
RACING
Competitors are to be at the Dummy Grid (Pit) muster area at least two minutes before their event.
Dummy Grid Marshal will administer the “peg” system to allocate grid positions. Riders must line up at the grid position they were allocated by the peg draw. No gate changes will be allowed.
Race grid will not be held up for riders not yet on the grid (i.e. when the green flag goes up to signal the all clear from the previous the starter will show the 15 sec board). Once the green flag is up no riders will be permitted to enter the race grid.
FLAG MARSHALL CHANGE OVER
Flag Marshall change over will occur as a group. If you are late arriving for the changeover, you are effectively holding up the change over and the day’s schedule.
Practice will be marshalled by all Senior riders. The Flag Marshall Coordinator will call all Senior Open/Over 35/Over 45 riders out to Flag Marshall at the end of riders briefing.
Group 1, 2 and 3 will be marshalled by Junior riders (parents and guardians over the age of 16) as per the Flag Marshall sign on sheet.
Failure to report for or undertake the flag marshal duty will result in exclusion from riding the remainder of the day and forfeiting of any point score points.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP (point score):
In 2010 MDMCC will hold 7 MX Club Championship point score events.
Riders must compete in at least 5 of the 7 club point score rounds to qualify for the end of year club point score. If a round is cancelled and cannot be caught up at a later date then the amount of rounds required to qualify will be reduced accordingly.
All 7 rounds count towards the Club Championship point score.
Each race points will count towards the Club Championship results.
For example if you win 3 races at one of our events, your whole 75 points will go towards your results, not 25 points for the overall win on the day.
If a rider can not complete the days racing due to an injury, points accumulated will count towards final point score.
